Glacier skiing in Oetztal
Over 30 years of skiing fun
The glacier ski resort of Soelden opened in the 1970s. Back then, it was ahead of its time with tow lifts and chair lifts on offer. Today, the modern 8-seater cable cars comply with the very latest standards in cable car technology. Just slip your skis on and head off for a glacier ski trip!
The glacier road leads to one of the biggest glacier ski regions in Austria, just a 25 minutes' drive away from the centre of Soelden. Ski buses also depart regularly to ensure that you reach your ski resort quickly and easily. In winter the road is blocked, so the glacier is accessed via the ski lifts.
Months of skiing fun
We have one of the longest skiing seasons in Austria. The slopes and lifts are available for use for eight months from October to May. Our snow groomer drivers do their very best to prepare the 37 km of slopes for you from the very first to the very last day in order to ensure that every single day of skiing is unforgettable, whatever the time of year. The first powder snows in October and firn skiing in May signal the beginning of fun for snowboarders and carving fans alike.
A diverse glacier ski resort
Whether you are a carving professional or a beginner: glacier skiing in Austria is a truly extraordinary experience. Enjoy unbelievable panoramic views of the Oetztal Alps as you travel up the mountain, slip your skis or snowboard on and glide back down again over the white sparkling slopes. Flat slopes await you at the Tiefenbach glacier whilst the slopes at the nearby Rettenbach glacier are steeper and more challenging. It is not without good reason that this glacier is used as the venue for the Ski World Cup.
After an exciting day in this world of endless ice, enjoy every conceivable comfort in one of our hotels in the centre of Soelden. Send us a non-binding enquiry today or book directly online. We look forward to welcoming you!
